Village School Project

Welcome to the Anandanagar Village School Project! Our mission is to bring quality education to underserved rural communities, starting with the children of Anandanagar. We believe every child deserves access to learning opportunities, regardless of their geographic or socioeconomic background.

Through the Anandanagar Village School, we aim to empower students with essential skills, nurturing their curiosity and confidence to help them shape a brighter future. Our team includes passionate educators and community members who work together to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for our students.

With a curriculum that blends academic subjects, local culture, and practical skills, we strive to make learning both relevant and inspiring. Every donation, partnership, and volunteer effort goes directly toward providing resources, training teachers, and enhancing the educational experience for our students. Together, we can make a lasting impact and open new doors of opportunity for the next generation.

Thank you for supporting the Anandanagar Village School Project—where every child’s potential is our inspiration.

Ananda Nagar, the global headquarters of Ananda Marga, stands as a beacon of hope amidst challenging conditions in one of India’s most impoverished and tribal areas. This historic land, revered as one of humanity’s earliest civilizations, now faces immense hardships, where basic necessities remain largely out of reach for its residents. Spread across 52 villages, many families live without access to schools, hospitals, or reliable roads, which often forces children into child labor, robbing them of education and a hopeful future.

Our Mission

Founded in 1963 by Baba, Ananda Nagar was envisioned as a place where free education and sustainable development would uplift the underprivileged communities. In 1964, the first school opened its doors, and today, various institutions and initiatives positively impact thousands of children and families.

Key Achievements

  • 18 Elementary Schools

  • 50 Teachers

  • 1,000+ Students

  • 560 Families Supported Across 36 Villages

The Ananda Nagar Village Schools (ANVS) Project, launched in 1995, continues to drive this transformation by offering free education, breaking the cycle of poverty, and instilling hope for a brighter future.

Current Challenges

Despite significant strides, many of our schools operate under difficult conditions:

  • 10 schools have buildings but lack essentials like doors, windows, electricity, blackboards, desks, and chairs. Students often learn while sitting on mats.

  • 5 schools use borrowed, temporary spaces.

  • 2 schools hold classes outdoors under trees, vulnerable to weather disruptions.

Immediate Needs

Our priority needs include:

  • Improved school infrastructure (doors, windows, lighting, and furniture)

  • Additional classrooms for growing enrollments

  • Enhanced teacher support, including salary raises and bonuses

  • Extracurricular programs in sports and arts every six months

  • Renovation for deteriorating school buildings and provision of essential school accessories

How You Can Help

Your support is crucial to sustaining and expanding the Ananda Nagar Village Schools Project. Here are ways you can make a difference:

Sponsorship Opportunities:
  • Sponsor a Teacher: $25/month or $300/year

  • Sponsor a School: $100/month

Other Ways to Donate:

  • Contribute towards school renovations and construction

  • Donate educational materials or gifts for teachers and students

  • Support school events, including sports and cultural programs

Every contribution brings us closer to our vision of providing quality education and creating opportunities for these children to achieve a brighter future.

Annual Budget

Our total minimum required budget is $16,060:

  • Teacher Salaries: $11,700 for 39 teachers

  • Administration and Miscellaneous Expenses: $2,160

  • Annual Functions (Sports, Arts, etc.): $2,200

Note: This budget does not include infrastructure maintenance or new construction costs, which are calculated separately.

Support the Future of Ananda Nagar

Your generosity will directly impact the lives of children in one of the world’s most disadvantaged areas. To learn more or request a detailed budget for school construction and renovation projects, please contact us.

About Us – Ananda Marga Primary School

Ananda Marga Primary School, located at Bara Malka in the serene heart of Anandanagar, is a value-based educational institution rooted in the principles of Neo-Humanist Education. Founded on the ideals of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti Ji, our mission is to empower underprivileged rural children through holistic education that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit.

Established in a pollution-free, naturally blessed environment surrounded by hills and rivers, the school provides a calm and uplifting atmosphere where children can grow into confident, compassionate, and capable human beings.

Our curriculum integrates academic excellence with character development, yoga, meditation, moral education, environmental awareness, and cultural activities—fostering universal love, discipline, and a service-oriented mindset.
